Texas Route 66 Festival
Save the Date: June 4–13, 2026 | Texas Panhandle
Route 66 is more than a highway—it’s a legend. And from June 4-13, 2026, the Texas Panhandle becomes the ultimate destination for dreamers, road trippers, and Americana lovers during the Texas Route 66 Festival. This 10-day, region-wide celebration is Texas’ only official Route 66 festival, and there’s nothing else like it in the country.
More than just a nostalgic tribute, the Texas Route 66 Festival is a living, breathing showcase of what makes the Mother Road special—blending classic Americana charm with the grit, independence, and unmistakable style of authentic Texas culture.
10 Days. Dozens of Events. One Legendary Highway.
Spanning multiple towns and communities along the Texas stretch of Route 66, the festival brings together people, places, and stories that define the spirit of the open road. From car shows and cattle towns to pop-up shops, outdoor concerts, art walks, and vintage roadside attractions, this is a road trip brought to life.
Each stop along the route offers its own flavor—from small-town hospitality and cowboy history to big eats, bold personalities, and a pride that only comes from living on the land.
Why the Texas Panhandle?
Because this is where Route 66 gets real. The Texas Panhandle’s 178-mile stretch of Route 66 is rich in history, character, and wide-open wonder. And Amarillo sits right at the heart of it all—a central hub with deep roots in the Mother Road and a bold vision for keeping it alive.
During the festival, communities throughout the region come together to showcase what makes Texas Route 66 unforgettable. You won’t find a polished, theme-park version of the past. You’ll find real diners serving hot coffee, locally-owned shops celebrating old-school cool, and events hosted by folks who’ve been living the Route 66 life for generations.
The Grand Finale: Saturday, June 13, 2026
The festival ends with a bang on Saturday, June 13, in Amarillo—with a massive celebration on the city’s historic 6th Avenue, one of the most iconic stretches of Route 66 in the state.
Hundreds of classic cars line the road, live music fills the air, and the best of Texas comes out in force. Expect festival food, local vendors, family-friendly fun, and a full day of Western flair and roadside charm. From sunup to sundown, it’s the kind of moment that makes your heart race—and your camera roll explode.
If you only make it to one event, make it this one. June 13 is the day to be here.
A Festival That Drives Deeper
The Texas Route 66 Festival isn’t about recreating a fantasy version of history. It’s about honoring the real stories, places, and people that have kept the road alive. It’s a salute to freedom, hard work, and the idea that the journey really is the destination.
So fill your tank, grab your boots, and chart your course to the Texas Panhandle. Whether you're cruising in a classic ride or just rolling in for the fun, there’s a place for you on this road.
