Kids on Trail in Palo Duro Canyon

For families who love the outdoors, Amarillo offers plenty of opportunities to explore. Just 30 minutes from downtown, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the second-largest canyon in the United States, is perfect for hiking, wildlife watching, and kid-friendly adventures like the Bird Viewing Blind and the easy Sunflower Trail.

If you'd rather stay in town, Wildcat Bluff Nature Center offers miles of scenic trails, guided hikes for kids and adults, and its popular Toddler Tracks program, making it a great way to experience the Texas Panhandle without leaving Amarillo.
