The Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau Arts Committee and the City of Amarillo are sponsoring an Airport Art Program. In August, local and area artists were mailed an application and invited to submit artwork. They were reviewed by an Arts Committee Airport Art Sub-Committee with final approval from the Airport Board of Managers.

Eight artists were chosen and 12 pieces of artwork will be displayed for 6 months in the Rick Husband International Airport. They will be located on the ticket level at the airport. The artists include: Ralph Duke, photography, John M. Key, photography, Sally Maag, hand-woven rugs, Judy Rogers, acrylic painting, Carl J. Smith, oil painting, Kristy Snell, oil painting, Karen Wolfram, oil painting, and Walter Wolfram, acrylic painting.

"The purpose of the program is to offer a first impression of Amarillo for visitors and enhance the visual experience at the Rick Husband Airport. The program will give exhibition opportunities and showcase local and area artists", said Melody Alexander, Chair of the Arts Committee.
